Made up of five concentric rings and five stories, thePentagon sits on 29 acres ofVirginia near the Potomac River. While the huge building’s circumference is just under a mile, its design enables those working in the building to go from one point to another in just under 10 minutes.

Medical Services
Individuals on flying status may obtainmedical care from the 579th Medical Group’s Flight Medicine Clinic at the Pentagon. Active duty service members assigned to the Pentagon and not on flying status may enroll in theAnthony DiLorenzo TRICARE Health Clinic. Enrollment is required to receive routine health care at the clinic. The DiLorenzo Clinic is an active duty-only, tri-service clinic offering a full range of medical care including military sick call, primary care, minor surgery, immunizations, optometry, radiology, physical therapy, health promotions, cardiology, podiatry,dermatology, Army⁄Navy⁄Air Force physical exams and a pharmacy. The DiLorenzo Clinic is located just inside the eighth corridor entrance on the north parking side of the Pentagon. APentagon badge or an active-duty ID card isnecessary to access the Pentagon unescorted.

Dental Services
Because of its limited size, the 579th Medical Group’s dental clinic at the Pentagon in Room 4B758 serves only patients from the Air Force Flight Medicine Clinic. All other Air Forcepersonnel working in the Pentagon receivedental care at the Pentagon Tri-Service Dental Clinic on the first floor of the Pentagon. Dental sick call for urgent or acute care at this facility is on a walk-in basis, daily, at 7 a.m. and noon.

Family Support Center
Family support center services are available or can be scheduled by contacting the Pentagonoffice at (703) 693-9460. The office is located in Room 1E288.

Legal Assistance
Legal assistance is available to Air Forcepersonnel at the Pentagon in Room 5C263. The staff provides counseling on personal legalmatters such as purchases, taxes, wills and legal programs. For details on the office’s services and operating hours, call (703) 697-0413. Notary service and power of attorney are also available. Claims however must be filed in the legal office in Building P-20 on Bolling AFB. Call (202) 767-4439 for more information.

Pentagon Athletic Center
The newly renovated Pentagon AthleticCenter, operated by the Army, has facilities that promote physical fitness and fellowship among its members. Membership is open to active duty, reservist, and retired officers, enlisted members on active duty, and Department of Defensecivilians. An initiation fee is charged along with yearly dues, and members must show their membership card for admittance. Families ofeligible members may also use the athleticcenter in the Pentagon for an additional fee. The athletic center has facilities for most indoorathletics including badminton, basketball,handball, racquetball, squash, volleyball, weightlifting and gymnastics. The center also has a swimming pool, television lounge,showers, steam room and lockers.

Pentagon Chaplain Service
The prayer chapel and chaplain’s office in the Pentagon is located in Room 3A1054. An Army chaplain and chaplain assistants are assigned to the Pentagon and have many services to offer. Members are encouraged to stop by anddiscover the resources available. Some worship opportunities include Catholic Mass, Jewish Sabbath, Muslim mid-day prayer, Protestant services and Bible study. Schedules may be picked up in Room 3A1054. One Air Force chaplain from Bolling is also assigned forvisitation to Air Force units at the Pentagon.

Pentagon Services Program
Pentagon Services (Air Force) providesvarious leisure programs and activities for active duty and civilian members working in orattached to the Pentagon. The services office and store is located in Room 5E917. This officeadministers three non-appropriated funds:Headquarters Air Force Special Fund, Pentagon Officers Unit Fund and Pentagon Airmen’s Unit Fund. These fund sources sponsor various sports tournaments, charter boat fishing, shopping trips and discount tickets to pro-sports events, local amusement parks, local movie theaters, etc. The Air Force Store has the only Ticketmaster ticket outlet and movie rental operation in thePentagon. Additionally, the store sells shadowboxes, plaques, White House holiday ornaments, assorted clothing and other Air Force souvenirs.

Adult Education
The Pentagon Education Center is located in Room 4A10188I. Undergraduate programs available through the office include Georgetown University, University of Maryland,National-Louis University, Strayer University, Park College, Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University.Education Services has an extensive list of schools offering graduate and undergraduateprograms, and offers a variety of tests for college credit as well as vocational tests plus a full range of counseling services.

Banking Services
Those working at the Pentagon have a choice of two financial institutions located on theconcourse, Bank of America and PentagonFederal Credit Union. Both institutions are closed weekends and holidays.

Library
The library in the Pentagon can be visited in person or via the Internet. Whatever the chosen method, patrons will have access to more than 1.5 million books, periodicals, documents,reference materials for research andbibliographic services. Shopping on the Concourse
Pentagon employees and visitors can find everything from A to Z in the various shopslocated on the concourse. Services and merchandise include travel office, jewelry, dry cleaners, film processing, florist, drugstore, post office and fast food restaurants and vendors. All are open on weekdays.
