Auto Skills Center
The Auto Skills Center on Bolling is theperfect place to learn everything you everwanted to know about your car while saving on high maintenance costs. The shop has 10maintenance stalls, two body stalls, a paint-spray booth, an engine analyzer, resale store, engine work room, high-speed wheel balancer,tool-issue area and four coin-operated car-wash stalls with foaming brushes, four lube racks and three frame lifts. Those who prefer may have auto repairs done by skilled mechanics on site.

The auto center also provides additionalservices including window tinting, auto detailing and alarm⁄stereo installation. The center is also home to the scrub shop, a professional andpersonalized automobile detailing service.Budget rental trucks⁄trailers service available.

Fitness & Aerobic Centers
Bolling has two fitness facilities: the aerobic center and the fitness center. The fitness centeroffers a variety of intramural and varsity sports,top-of-the-line fitness equipment and innovativefitness programs. The fitness center offersseveral sporting venues, such as four regulationracquetball courts, one regulation-sizebasketball⁄volleyball court and two regulation-size softball fields. Strength training equipment in the fitness center consists of 45 free weight machines, and 17 Nautilus strength-training machines. The facility also houses several different types ofcardiovascular equipment including two step mills, one stair stepper, six treadmills, six ellipticalmachines, and four stationary bikes. The fitness center has locker rooms for men and women, both of which are equipped with a steam room and a sauna.

The aerobic center houses 36 pieces ofhigh-tech cardiovascular equipment includingfive treadmills, 11 elliptical machines, 13stationary bikes, one stair mill, three stairsteppers, two Nordic tracks, and two rowingmachines. The aerobics center also offers a variety of aerobic and self-defense classes taught bynationally certified instructors in a dedicatedaerobic room. Men’s and women’s locker rooms allow patrons to shower after exercising.

New for 2005 was the fitness advisor. This is a computer-based program that tracks and records patron workouts on both cardiovascular equipment and strength-training equipment. When the fitness advisor is used in conjunction with the Nautilus strength-training machines, it acts as a virtualpersonal trainer that makes sure the patron has the correct bio-mechanical body positioning and is performing the exercise at the correct speed. The fitness advisor also tracks and records cardiovascular exercise performed on the treadmills, step mills, stair steppers, stationary bikes and elliptical machines.

Outdoor Recreation Center
For those folks who hear the call of the wild, the specialists at outdoor recreation can point you in the right direction. The center sponsors seasonal programs such as horseback riding, hiking, fishing, camping, skiing and rock climbing. It also houses a leisure travel service, which offers a wide variety of trips throughout the greater Washington area, and to New York City, Atlantic City, ski resorts,shopping outlets, beaches and more.

Outdoor Recreation also handles all reservations for picnics and shelters at Giesboro Park and Bolling Green areas on base.

Outdoor Recreation operates the base swimming pool. The pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Swim teams, pool rental as well as group and private swim lessons are just some of the services available.

Arts & Crafts Center
The Arts & Crafts center offers a chance to work in a frame shop or woodshop. Services include custom framing, gifts, plaques and much more, all at reasonable prices. In addition, the center holds monthly ‘‘how-to” classes in woodworking and framing, so patrons can do it themselves atconsiderable savings. The facility houses anengraving shop that provides a wide variety ofprofessional laser and metal engraving. The wood shop offers some of the best-equipped facilities in the area with a professional woodcrafter on hand to assist with any project. It also offers a full line of power and hand tools and the most popularhardwoods for sale. A gift boutique offers custom gifts such as plaques, shadowboxes and photos of area monuments that are good choices for farewell and retirement gifts.

Youth Center
Children can take advantage of the manyprograms at Bolling’s youth center. The centeroffers a summer day-camp program, self-directed activities such as table games,instructional classes such as ballet, Tae Kwon Do, gymnastics, and both before- and after-school day care. Sports programs such as youth baseball,basketball, soccer and cheerleading are popularactivities. A new enlarged facility is due to open in the fall of 2006.

The center has a pool table, ping-pong table, video game system, color TV, VCR, and a state-of-the-art stereo system.

Regular activities include roller- and ice-skating, outdoor adventure trips, movie nights and theKeystone Club. Teens can also earn money forcollege by participating in the youth ‘‘YES”employment program.

Equipment Rental Center
Bolling’s newly renovated equipment rental center, located in the Outdoor Recreation Center, offers a wide variety of leisure equipment atreasonable prices. Items for checkout include camping equipment such as tents, lanterns, sleeping bags and backpacks, and sports gear such as skis, snowboards, bikes, along with softball and baseball gear. A ski repair shop is also available.

Community Center
The Edward H. White Community Center offers many family events throughout the year such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Summer Splash, and the base holiday tree-lighting event. Instructional classes are also offered for piano and dance. The second floor has a game room featuring wide-screentelevisions, pool tables, table tennis and board games. The center’s ballroom is used for classes, conferences, and military and private functions.

Free first-run movies are also offered on base by 11th Services Division every Friday and Saturday night.

Bowling Center
The Potomac Lanes Bowling Center has 30 lanes for family bowling fun. The traditional bowler will enjoy the lanes and modern scoring system. The center provides a variety of bowling events and specials along with leagues in the fall and summer. The Bowling Center also has a snack bar with a wide range of sandwiches, burgers, and made-to-order breakfast. Pettini’s FamilyRestaurant can also be located at the bowlingcenter. The Strike Zone Lounge offers a bar, pool table, darts and foosball.

Base Marina
Bolling’s Capital Cove Marina is located on the Potomac River, which is a natural artery to the Chesapeake Bay. The marina features newlyreplaced docks and open slips with electricity,dry-lot storage, a maintenance area, transient berthing, launch ramp, emergency pumpingservice, charter sailboats and affordable rates. Small boats are available for rent.

Bolling Clubs
The Bolling Clubs houses an elegant dining room, ballroom, party and meeting rooms and two lounges within the club’s 84,000 square feet. It is one of the largest and most prestigious clubs in the Air Force. A hot lunch buffet is served Tuesday through Friday as well as a variety of dining and lounge specials. Whether it’s a seafood buffet,casual dining, champagne Sunday brunch, dining and dancing or membership night, there’s always something happening at the club. The facilityoffers two lounges.
