Chenega Security Guards This joint Department of the Army and Installation Management Command initiative is being implemented at installations and bases all over the world. The contract security guard force was hired to relieve reserve component Soldiers - both Army National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve - whoaugmented the FMMC Military Police force for more than two years after Sept. 11, 2001. Here at FMMC we have a contract with Chenega Security to provide contract security guards. Chenega is out of Alaska, and the contract is a Small and Disadvantaged Business set aside (Native American), but employees - about 90 personnel - are all local hires. To qualify for these duties, the Chenega Security personnel spent 30 days in a rigorous trainingprogram, one week of which was similar to the MP weapons training course.
