Branch Health Clinic
Welcome to the Branch Health Clinic Dahlgren, Virginia. Services provided include routine and acute health care with limited ancillary support (pharmacy, lab, and radiology) and active duty dental care.

Our Mission is to provide Force Health Protection, Operational Readiness, Outstanding Customer Services and Quality Health Care.

The clinic goal is to provide exemplary service to enrolled active duty and dependent Tricare Prime beneficiaries, retired Tricare Prime beneficiaries (dependent upon access availability), and civil service employees of Naval Support Facility Dahlgren.

Clinic hours of operation are:
7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday - Thursday
7:30 – 12 p.m. Friday
Clinic closed on nationalholidays.

Appointments
Routine and follow up appointments can be scheduled via internet online at www.tricareonline.com or dial (866) NAVYMED (628-9633).

For acute⁄ill Active Duty appointments, call (540) 653-8241⁄42 after 7:45 a.m. Monday-Friday.

For Active Duty Physical Exams and Occupational Health physicals call (540) 653-4199.

For Active Duty Dental appointments call (540) 653-8564.

For urgent or emergent care, dial 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Room. There is no prior authorization needed for Emergency Room Visits. Notify your Primary Care Manager within 24 hours of the ER visit. Call the clinic to schedule any follow up appointments.

Visiting Quarters
Dahlgren military billeting is comprised of five lodging facilities with accommodations for 130 VQ guests. The front desk was recently relocated from Bldg. 962 to Bldg. 960. It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

One hundred and three (103) visiting quarters with private bath are located in Buildings 217, 215, 959 and 960 to accommodate transient officers, enlisted, and authorized civilian guests. We also have two distinguished visiting suites with fully-equipped kitchens in Building 217.

Twenty-one visiting quarters with shared bathrooms are in Building 959 for transient enlisted, E6 and below.

Building 909 has four units for active-duty military personnel with dependents who have PCS in⁄out orders. Amenities include cable TV, DVD⁄VCR, clock radio, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron⁄ironing board, telephone, microwave and refrigerator. Some VQ suites are equipped with a kitchenette.

Customer Service Desk (CSD), Dahlgren
Customer Service Desk (CSD) Dahlgren provides administrative, pay, and personnel support to tenant commands, including issuance of military CAC, retirees and dependent ID cards. The Commercial Travel Officer (CTO) is collocated with CSD and supports all official transportation services for the center's military and civilian personnel.

CSD is located three blocks past the main gate on Dahlgren Road in Building 230. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and 7:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Wednesdays. The telephone number for CSD is (540) 653-8689⁄7371⁄7372, DSN 249, during normal working hours.

For new arrivals (staff and transients on either PCS or TDY orders), ensure your original orders are stamped and endorsed by your parent command prior to checking in with CSD. To complete your check-in process, report to CSD within two working days with your transfer packages including all related documents, travel receipts, vouchers and airline⁄bus tickets.

Eligibility to dine in the Dahlgren Galley: Authorized patrons of ashore galleys to purchase meals for cash are U.S. and foreign military, activated reservists on orders, escorted dependents of military active-duty or activated reserves, U.S. military midshipmen cadets, NROTC personnel on orders and all government travelers on orders.

Military Family Housing
The Navy and Lincoln Military Housing, as a Public Private Venture (PPV) partnership, provide housing for the military in the Dahlgren area. There are 124 units of single-family houses and 125 townhouse units that currently serve the needs of the military families stationed here.

Applications
Applications for housing should be made on an Application for Assignment to Housing (DD Form 1746) with a copy of orders and a copy of current record of emergency data attached. Applications may be submitted by mail to Housing Welcome Center, Naval Support Activity South Potomac (Code HN8MH, Bldg 142), 6136 Jenkins Road, Suite 100, Dahlgren, VA 22448-5109; by fax to (540) 653-7040; or in person at the Housing Welcome Center at any time following receipt of orders to a duty station serviced by Dahlgren.

Housing Referrals
The Housing Welcome Center provides a housing referral service and incoming personnel are referred to Lincoln Military Housing as a ‘‘preferred referral” for the housing located at the activity. Rental and sale property listings are available for those who desire to locate in the surrounding areas.

Temporary Lodging
Because of the limited number and expense of the area hotels⁄motels, personnel are encouraged to make reservations on a temporary basis at the Gateway Inns and Suites at (540) 653-7671 or DSN 249-7671. Public Private Venture
Families desiring to be housed on base will be required to sign a lease with Lincoln Military Housing (PPV partner). This is a six-month lease, and renewed on a month-to-month basis after the initial lease period. Lincoln provides 24-hour maintenance, yard and lawn care, monthly community activities, and a professional staff to serve your needs while living at Dahlgren. They can be reached at (540) 663-2190.

Pets
Keeping cats and dogs is a conditional privilege extended to residents. Residents must comply with state and local laws governing pet ownership, including laws regarding licensing and vaccinations. The limit is two (2) dogs or cats per household. Birds, fish, hamsters and guinea pigs will be permitted; exotic animals, such as reptiles, rodents (other than the hamsters and guinea pigs), ferrets, hedgehogs, or any farm animals are prohibited. Housing reserves the right to restrict certain breeds of dogs that are considered to be dangerous. Owners are financially and legally responsible for all pets.

Command Religious Program
Nestled among beautiful trees in the family housing area, the Dahlgren Chapel is the focal point for base religious activities. The Command Religious Program facilitates worship, prayer and meditation according to the dictates of your faith. We currently serve the worship and religious education needs of Roman Catholics, Protestants, and Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. The worship schedule is:

Roman Catholic Mass: Friday Noon, Saturday 5 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. Protestant Worship: Sunday 10:30 a.m.

Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Meeting:Sunday 2 p.m.

In addition to worship and religious education, the base chaplain is available for individual and family counseling and support. Call our office to schedule and appointment. For after hours support in crisis or emergency, contact the Base Operator at 540-653-8291.

Fleet & Family Support Center (FFSC)
The Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) is located in Bldg 214 on School House Lane behind the NSWC Credit Union. It is a full-service FFSC. Operating hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. We provide the right services at the right time to strengthen personal andfamily competencies that will meet the unique challenges of a military lifestyle.

The Fleet and Family Support Center offers a wide variety of programs and services for active duty, military family members, and retired military personnel under the following functions: Deployment Support⁄Readiness; Crisis Response, Counseling and Advocacy; and Career Support and Retention. Programs under these three functions are:

Deployment⁄Readiness - Com-mand Consultation and Support, Information and Referral, Deployment Support, Ombudsman Support, Exceptional Family Member Support, and Life Skills Education and Prevention programs designed to address parenting, new military spouse orientation, stress management, anger management and suicide prevention.

Crisis Response - FFSC clinical counselors are licensed and credentialed professionals who provide counseling, victim intervention and prevention education related to military quality of life issues. Services include solution-focused clinical counseling for individuals and couples; Family Advocacy Programs (FAP) addressing domestic violence, child maltreatment, and treatment and education; and Sexual Assault Victim Intervention (SAVI) prevention and education programs related to sexual assault.

Career Support and Retention programs include the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) for service members and their families transitioning out of the military; Family Employment Readiness education programs to assist family members with their job search; and Personal Financial Management education programs that promote financial stability.

The FFSC has a Retired Activities Office staffed by retired military volunteers who provide services and resources for retired military personnel, their families, and survivors to ensure they receive up-to-date information on retiree issues, Veteran's Benefits, Survivor Benefits, and other benefits to which they are entitled. American Red Cross
The King George and Spotsylvania County Chapters of the American Red Cross provide support and services to civilian and military personnel of the Base. They verify family emergencies, conduct blood drives, and provide training. To reach the Red Cross Chapter responsible for this area, call (540) 373-5176.

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society
The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is found wherever there are Sailors and Marines. The Dahlgren Branch of the District of Columbia Auxiliary is an active, full service office which offers loans, grants, layettes, budget counseling and training courses. The Society office is located in Bldg. 119, the Chapel Annex. The office is open from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. To make an appointment, call (540) 653-2071 or (540) 653-8647. During an emergency you may contact the Navy Relief Representative through the Command Duty Officer of the base, (540) 850-2380.

NSWC Federal Credit Union
NSWC Federal Credit Union is committed to the community that we serve. Through our partnership with the Morale, Welfare and Recreation office, the Credit Union helps provide many beneficial activities to the base. We actively support local events and charities, not only financially, but with our time. We recently received an award from the Virginia Credit Union League for our work with the Arthritis Foundation. Some of the other organizations we support throughout the year include the American Cancer Society with Relay for Life, the SPCA, the Fredericksburg Area Museum, James Monroe High School, Germanna Community College, and the Bragg Hill Family Life Center.

Second TourThrift Boutique
The Second Tour Thrift Boutique is located at 722 Sampson Road, and is operated by the Dahlgren Officers' Spouses Club. The boutique is open on Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. - Noon. Second Tour accepts donations of gently used clothing and household goods. The Boutique offers free military uniforms that are available 24 hours a day. All proceeds raised at the thrift boutique are returned to the Dahlgren community through scholarships, charity grants and other programs.

The Pass & ID office is located in Bldg. 195. Hours of operation are Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. Visitor badges, vehicle decals and photo badges are issued during working hours.

Motorcycles
Motorcyclists will be issued a registration to allow time to complete a motorcycle safety course. Once completed, proof of completion must be presented at the Pass and ID Office.

Resident Stickers
Resident stickers are available for all military personnel residing on station. A resident sticker negates the requirement to obtain a King George County decal for privately owned vehicles.

Normal BaseEntry Procedures
Personnel entering the base must show either a CAC (Common Access Card), NSASP or tenant command photo badge, or active dutyºretireeºdependent military ID to gain access. Vehicles must have a DOD Vehicle Decal. Personnel wishing to enter the base who do not possess one of these cards or vehicle decals will be directed to the Pass & ID Office. Visitors must be sponsored by either military, NSASP or tenant command personnel and processed through the Pass & ID Office if not accompanied by the sponsor. At the time the Visitors Badge is requested, a valid photo ID (state operator's license) must be presented.

Alcohol
Alcohol may be consumed by persons 21 years of age and above in authorized areas only.

Firearms Registration
Personnel residing on station must register their privately-owned firearms with the Pass and ID Office. Those living in family housing may retain their firearms in their quarters. Temporary or permanent residents of the BOQ and BEQ may not store weapons in the barracks; but can make arrangements for Security to store a weapon for them during hunting season only.

Bicycles
In accordance with base regulations, all persons riding a bicycle, rollerblading, skate boarding, etc. aboard NSF Dahlgren must wear an ANSI or Snell Memorial Foundation approved helmet.

Fire Division
The Fire Department is located on Dahlgren Road, Bldg. 411, across from the Dahlgren Galley. There are firefighters on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to serve residents, employees and visitors of the installation. Twenty-seven personnel work in the Fire Division consisting of a Fire Chief, two Assistant Fire Chiefs, four Fire Captains, three Fire Inspectors, and eighteen Firefighters.

Core functions of the Fire Department include but are not limited to fire suppression, fire prevention, public fire safety education, fire service training, hazardous materials emergency response, rescue, and emergency response to natural and man - made disasters. These firefighters maintain a high level of training and qualifications to be able to respond in a moments notice. The Fire Fighters operate numerous response vehicles such as a structural fire pumper, a ladder truck with pumping capacity, a command vehicle, brush truck, technical rescue and a HAZMAT truck.

The roll of the Fire Prevention office is to conduct fire protection inspections, manage the public education program, review installation construction plans and specifications, investigate fires, provide hazardous operations permits, and provide life safety and fire protection training. The prevention office has just received a new Fire Extinguisher Training aid, which enables us to come to your facility to teach fire extinguisher training.

The Fire Division does not maintain an ambulance service; however, the Fire Department responds to medical emergencies to stabilize victims awaiting transport. The Dahlgren Rescue Squad provides medical transport from the NDW West Area Dahlgren to area hospitals if needed.
