Riders needed for van pool
Up to three riders are needed in a vanpool from the Ferry Farm Wal-Mart in Fredericksburg to Naval Support Facility Dahlgren (B-Side).

The monthly cost is $130 per person. The Transportation Incentive Program pitches in $115 per month which means a monthly out-of-pocket fee of $15. Ask your TIP coordinator (Leslie Jordan at 540-653-8942) for enrollment information, requirements⁄entitlements and forms.

You will be required to commit to ride the van pool at least 33 days per quarter (although this averages out to about 11 days per month, you manage your 33 or more days per quarter). If you are willing to drive occasionally (although not required), it will help tremendously.

Wal-Mart morning pickup (B-side riders only) is 6:15 a.m. and afternoon pickup from B-side is 3:45 p.m. (this roughly equates to a 6:50 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. work schedule).

For more information for the B-Side vanpool, call or e-mail Gaylord Ugalde at 653-6593 (gaylord.ugalde@navy.mil) or Linda Brown at 653-2676 (linda.f.brown@navy.mil).

Sotterley Volunteers Needed
The planning seeds have been laid and are now taking root for Sotterley Plantation’s Garden Fair, scheduled for April 25-26, 2009 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. This event will feature guest speakers, vendors, demonstrations, children’s activities and more. This one-of-a-kind event will certainly be a hit with the avid gardeners (and even the occasional gardeners) in Southern Maryland.

With the tremendous amount of pre-event cultivation work to be done, we need volunteers! Much of the work can be done from home, and some of the jobs will include such tasking as making advance contacts via phone⁄e-mail and chairing or aiding such sub-committees as advertising, vendors, speakers, demos, children’s activities, entertainment, etc. Even those whose thumbs are not exactly green can help!

For more info, contact Karen Tippett at 301-373-2280 or events@sotterley.org.
